Riyadh’s Heritage Commission Launches Training Program for Young Artisans in Qatif

A group of 45 young men and women have eagerly signed up for the Heritage Commission’s intensive training and development program, set to take place over the course of 12 months at the House of Artisans within the Al-Ramis project in Qatif.

The program’s primary objective is to preserve the rich cultural heritage of the region while equipping aspiring artisans with the necessary skills to excel in traditional handicrafts.

Ibrahim Alsghan, the esteemed regional manager of the Heritage Commission in the Eastern Province, expressed his excitement for the upcoming programs and training courses that are designed not only to safeguard cultural traditions but also to showcase the intricate beauty of ancient and authentic handicrafts.

This groundbreaking initiative is poised to elevate the talents of Saudi artisans by fostering innovative craft designs and encouraging active participation in festivals and events that draw in tourists and visitors from near and far.

The Qatif project stands as a pivotal component of the training development programs, aiming to empower young individuals to thrive independently in the dynamic tourism and retail sectors.

With the unwavering support of the Heritage Commission, the project in Qatif is set to transform the region into a vibrant tourist destination, offering a diverse array of traditional crafts such as woodwork, weaving fishing nets, and the exquisite naqda craft, which intricately incorporates gold and silver into traditional garments.

Furthermore, participants will have access to invaluable workshops covering essential topics such as entrepreneurship, cost accounting, marketing strategies, and innovative packaging solutions.
