Riyadh Hosts the Glitzy Billboard Arabia Music Awards
The city of Riyadh was buzzing with excitement on Wednesday night as the prestigious Billboard Arabia Music Awards took place to celebrate the most-streamed songs and popular artists in the region. Among the star-studded lineup was Palestinian Chilean singer Elyanna, who is currently touring the world with British rock band Coldplay.
With a focus on digital data from global music and video platforms, the event shone a spotlight on Arabic music, drawing in a crowd of celebrities and music enthusiasts. One of the highlights of the evening was the presence of Jara, Saudi Arabia’s first female rapper, who captivated the audience with her powerful performance.
“I am Jara, and I am beyond excited to be a part of the first-ever Billboard Music Awards in Saudi Arabia. Being nominated for Best Female Hip Hop Artist in the Middle East is a dream come true for me. Regardless of the outcome, I am honored to be part of this incredible celebration,” Jara shared with Arab News before the ceremony.
The awards ceremony saw some well-deserved winners, with “Tamer Ashour” taking home the Song of the Year award, Sherine Abdulwahab being crowned Artist of the Year, and Amr Diab winning the Favorite Artist title. Other winners included Abdulmajeed Abdullah for Best Khaliji Artist, Omaima Talib for Best Khaliji Female Artist, Nancy Ajram for Best Female Artist from the Levant, and Cairokee for the Best Indie Artist award.
From the Best Khaliji Song to the Best Moroccan Song, the Billboard Arabia Music Awards celebrated the diverse talents and vibrant music scene of the region in a night filled with glitz and glamour.
