AlUla’s Summer Fruit Season: A Bounty of Local Products

The Royal Commission for AlUla has kicked off the area’s summer fruit season with a bang. From July 17 to 24, Manshiya Plaza is a bustling hub of activity, showcasing the finest local products at the farmers market.

This seasonal goods project is not just about fruits; it’s about supporting farmers and small businesses, creating sustainable demand for organic products, and opening up new economic opportunities within and beyond the agricultural community.

The project is divided into four events throughout the year: summer fruits in July, dates in October-November, gum arabic in November, and citrus fruits in January 2025. Each event celebrates the unique produce of AlUla, from mangoes and grapes to dates and gum arabic.

The Manshiya market is not just a marketplace; it’s a cultural and economic hotspot in AlUla. With vendors and buyers coming together to trade fresh local produce, the market is driving economic activity beyond traditional crop cycles.

Visitors flock to the market to witness the diversity of the region’s crops and learn how fresh products are incorporated into local dishes. It’s a celebration of AlUla’s agricultural heritage and culinary traditions.

This project is more than just a market; it’s a symbol of cooperation and partnership between AlUla’s farming community and local entities. It aligns with the commission’s vision of sustainability and resilience in the economic sector, paving the way for a prosperous future for AlUla.
