Saudi AI Platform Allam Included in IBM’s Watsonx Data Platform
Riyadh – In a groundbreaking announcement, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority revealed that Allam, the AI generative platform catering to Saudi Arabia and Arabic speakers globally, has been integrated into IBM’s watsonx data platform during its pilot phase at the IBM Think 2024 conference. Watsonx, IBM’s cutting-edge commercial generative AI and scientific data platform, operates on the cloud.
During the conference, Essam Al-Waqeet, the director of the National Information Center at SDAIA, lauded watsonx for its remarkable technical capabilities that facilitate large language models, simplify machine learning, and strengthen AI governance, compliance, and hybrid cloud deployment flexibility. He specifically highlighted the global inclusion of Allam, underscoring SDAIA’s leadership in the AI field.
Al-Waqeet emphasized the critical role of high-quality data in training large linguistic models for successful generative AI implementation. Allam, trained on over 500 billion linguistic units in Arabic, aims to expand its dataset with top-tier data to enhance model accuracy. The SDAIA is dedicated to making Allam the premier generative AI model in the Arabic language worldwide.
Furthermore, Al-Waqeet extended an invitation to IBM Think 2024 participants to join the upcoming third Global Artificial Intelligence Summit, hosted by SDAIA in Riyadh from September 10-12. This event promises to be a pivotal gathering for AI enthusiasts and industry experts alike.
