Discover the Secret to Keeping Namira Mosque Cool with White Coating!

Roads General Authority’s Innovative White Coating Project to Cool Down Arafat’s Namira Mosque

In a groundbreaking initiative, the Roads General Authority has completed a project to cover the asphalt around Arafat’s Namira Mosque with a special white coating. This innovative coating, made from locally manufactured materials that absorb less sunlight, is set to significantly lower temperatures for the Hajj pilgrims.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the white coating is designed to reduce surface temperatures by an impressive 20 degrees Celsius. This will provide much-needed relief for pilgrims during the intense heat of the Hajj season.

Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, the spokesperson for the agency, highlighted that the project was a collaborative effort involving multiple agencies. The application of the special coating is part of a larger effort to enhance the comfort and safety of pilgrims during their journey.

Previously, the same coating was successfully used on pedestrian pathways leading to the Jamarat area, where the ritual stoning of Satan takes place. This resulted in a temperature reduction of 12 to 15 degrees Celsius, significantly improving conditions for pilgrims.

The project has now extended to cover an area of 25,000 square meters around Namira Mosque. Al-Otaibi emphasized that this expansion will contribute to creating a more comfortable experience for pilgrims undertaking the Hajj pilgrimage this year.
