During her visit, Bhaskar explored some of the city’s landmarks, including the UNESCO World Heritage Site At-Turaif District in Diriyah. Impressed by the transformation she witnessed in the Kingdom, the Bollywood star activist expressed her delight and admiration for Riyadh, saying, “Let me just say first how beautiful this city is.”
Celebrating the Legacy of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan
Every year, AMU alumni around the world come together to celebrate the birth anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the founder of Aligarh Muslim University. Known for his contributions to education and reform, Sir Syed’s legacy continues to inspire generations.
Bhaskar also praised the strides being made in women’s empowerment in Saudi Arabia, noting the equal participation of women in various spheres of life. She commended the developments taking place and expressed her desire to return for a longer trip.
Global Harmony Initiative: Embracing Diversity in Riyadh
Saudi Arabia recently launched the Global Harmony Initiative as part of the “Quality of Life” program aligned with Vision 2030. The initiative aims to celebrate the diverse nationalities and cultures of residents through various events during Riyadh Season.
Reflecting on her experience, Bhaskar thanked AMUOBA Riyadh for their warm hospitality and expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to immerse herself in the rich culture of Riyadh. She also highlighted the significance of her daughter’s first visit to the holy land.
The Sir Syed Day celebration was attended by veteran Indian journalist Sandeep Chaudhary, adding to the cultural exchange and camaraderie of the event.
