Riyadh Welcomes 333 Talented Individuals from 90 Countries for International Chemistry Olympiad 2024

The King Salman Science Oasis was buzzing with excitement as it hosted 333 talented individuals from 90 countries who came together to participate in the 56th International Chemistry Olympiad 2024.

Organized by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and King Saud University, this event is a celebration of scientific excellence and innovation.

From July 22 to July 30, Riyadh became the hub of knowledge and discovery as participants were immersed in a rich learning experience. They delved into the history of chemistry in the Kingdom, exploring its pivotal role in the industry’s development.

The event also highlighted the significant contributions of the petrochemical industry to innovation and entrepreneurship in the Kingdom, providing valuable insights and knowledge to the eager participants.

One of the highlights of the program was the exhibition showcasing research priorities, development, and innovation in the Kingdom, with a special focus on energy and industry-related technologies.

Participants had the unique opportunity to interact with 13 researchers from the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, who shared their expertise in areas such as refining, petrochemicals, hydrogen, nuclear sciences, advanced materials, electronics, semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, future energy, and mining.

As a memorable finale to their visit, students had the chance to participate in making Taif perfume, adding a sensory experience to their time at the King Salman Science Oasis.
