Le Trio Joubran Mesmerizes Audience at Ithra

DHAHRAN: The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture, Ithra, was filled with anticipation on Thursday night as the award-winning Palestinian oud masters β€” and brothers β€” Le Trio Joubran took the stage for the first night of their performance in Dhahran.

Despite the absence of Samir, the eldest brother and founding member of the band, Wissam and Adnan made sure to keep his spot in the center of the trio untouched, symbolizing his presence throughout the show.

Addressing the crowd, Adnan expressed gratitude towards the Ithra and Aramco teams for their efforts to bring Samir to the performance. He acknowledged the void on stage and promised to deliver a show that the audience deserved.

Throughout the evening, the trio showcased their instrumental pieces, accompanied by moving Arabic poetry recitals. Percussionist Ruven Ruppik and cellist Valentin Mussou added depth to their performance, captivating the audience with their musical prowess.

Originating from Nazareth and now splitting their time between Palestine and France, Le Trio Joubran’s music often delves into themes of Palestinian identity and the universal human experience. Their work has been featured in various films and documentaries, solidifying their place in the global music scene.

In a memorable collaboration, the trio worked with Coldplay on the song “Arabesque” in 2019, showcasing their versatility and appeal across different genres.

As the night came to a close, Adnan reassured the audience that Le Trio Joubran would return next year, with Samir joining them on stage. The crowd erupted in cheers, eager for their next performance.

Don’t miss Wissam and Adnan’s second night at Ithra on Friday, July 12, as they continue to enchant audiences with their enchanting melodies and powerful storytelling.
