Saudi Ministry of Defense Ready to Provide Safety and Security Services for Pilgrims in Mina

In a bid to enhance healthcare services for pilgrims during Hajj season, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense has launched an air ambulance service. The ministry is fully prepared to ensure the safety and security of all pilgrims as they gather at the tent city of Mina.

First Emergency Case Transported

The first emergency case has already been handled by the ministry, with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority’s ambulance teams rescuing an African man in his 60s who was suffering from chest pains. The patient was examined by medical personnel and then flown from the Makkah Clock Tower landing pad to King Abdullah Medical City for further treatment.

Continuous Air Ambulance Services Throughout Hajj

The Ministry of Defense’s health services will continue to provide air ambulance services throughout this year’s Hajj in collaboration with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority and the Presidency of State Security. Assistant commander of the mission, Brigadier General Dr. Bandar bin Muhammad Al-Jaeed, highlighted the readiness of vertical and jet air medical evacuation aircraft to respond to emergency situations 24/7.

Equipped with the latest medical equipment, including an oxygen machine that can operate onboard for up to four hours, the aircraft aim to provide the best care for pilgrims in need. The ultimate goal is to support the efforts of security services and government agencies in facilitating a safe and secure Hajj experience for all pilgrims, in line with the directives of the Saudi leadership.
