Exciting News: Saudi Film ‘Norah’ Announces Global Premiere!

Dubai’s First Saudi Film to Make History at Cannes Film Festival

In a groundbreaking moment for Saudi cinema, “Norah” became the first Saudi film to grace the official calendar at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in May.

Now, the Red Sea Film Foundation has announced that this historic feature, supported by the Red Sea Fund, will hit theaters in Saudi Arabia and worldwide on June 20.

Directed by Tawfik Alzaidi, the film had its premiere at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah last December before making its way to the French Riviera last month, where it captivated audiences in the esteemed festival’s Un Certain Regard section.

Set entirely in AlUla during the 1990s, “Norah” stars Maria Bahrawi, Yaqoub Al-Farhan, and Abdullah Al-Satian. The film follows the journey of Norah and Nader as they inspire each other to pursue their artistic dreams in rural Saudi Arabia.
