Exciting News: US-Bangla Airlines Approved for Regular Dhaka-Jeddah Flights!

Saudi Arabia Enhances Air Connectivity with US-Bangla Airlines

In a groundbreaking move, Saudi Arabia has given the green light to US-Bangla Airlines to operate seven weekly flights between the Kingdom and Bangladesh starting August 1. This decision comes as part of the General Authority of Civil Aviation’s efforts to boost global air connectivity and align with the Saudi Vision 2030 goals of becoming a key logistics hub.

New Routes Opened for Air Travel Partners

The authorization from GACA allows US-Bangla Airlines to run scheduled passenger flights connecting Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, with Jeddah, a vibrant coastal city in Saudi Arabia. This new route offers exciting travel opportunities for passengers and supports the Kingdom’s National Aviation Strategy to enhance tourism and improve air services.

Expansion Plans and Future Outlook

Following this milestone, GACA also approved Air Samarkand to operate two weekly flights from Samarkand to Jeddah during the summer season of 2024. These recent developments build on Saudi Arabia’s decision earlier this year to grant China Southern Airlines permission to fly from multiple cities in China to the Saudi capital.

The Saudi Air Connectivity Program, established in 2021, aims to facilitate market entry and encourage growth in the aviation sector. By introducing new routes and increasing connectivity, Saudi Arabia is positioning itself as a key player in global tourism.

Ambitious Goals for 2030

Ali Rajab, executive vice president of air transport and international cooperation at GACA, shared the Kingdom’s ambitious plans for air connectivity during the Future Aviation Forum in Riyadh. By 2030, Saudi Arabia aims to serve 250 destinations, a significant increase from the 99 destinations in 2019. Rajab expressed confidence that the Kingdom will become a regional leader in aviation and rank fifth globally in the industry by the end of the decade.
