Saudi Arabia and China Forge Strong Partnership in City Planning and Construction Technology

Saudi Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing Majid Al-Hogail and Chinese Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development Ni Hong Discuss Collaboration

In a meeting held in Beijing, Saudi Arabia and China explored opportunities for cooperation in city planning, sustainable urban development, and construction technology. The discussions between Saudi Minister Al-Hogail and Chinese Minister Ni Hong focused on developing housing policies and programs for residential communities, following the agreements signed during the Chinese President’s visit to the Kingdom in December 2022.

After the meeting, Al-Hogail emphasized the importance of strengthening the partnership between the two nations, aligning Saudi Vision 2030 with the Belt and Road Initiative. He highlighted the potential benefits that this collaboration could bring to both countries globally.

Al-Hogail expressed his commitment to enhancing cooperation between Saudi Arabia and China, particularly in developing urban areas and attracting top Chinese construction companies to contribute their expertise to enhancing housing units across the Kingdom. The goal is to support the housing program of Saudi Vision 2030 by providing a variety of housing and financing options for citizens.

During the meeting, both countries shared successful experiences in providing housing solutions and options, as well as discussed ways to facilitate the exchange of experiences in urban management. The focus was on applying best practices to enhance opportunities for citizens to own homes.

The meeting in Beijing was part of an official visit by Al-Hogail to the Chinese capital, where he is scheduled to meet with senior government officials, heads of construction companies, and banks. The aim is to further strengthen the partnership in the construction sector and attract top international companies in real estate development.
