Design Space AlUla Showcases AlUla-Inspired Designs at Milan Design Week
Get ready to be mesmerized by the beauty of AlUla at Milan Design Week as Design Space AlUla presents a collection of designs inspired by the materiality of this enchanting place. From April 14-21, visitors will have the opportunity to witness the creativity of artists and designers like Zahrah Alghamdi, Cristian Mohaded, TAKK (Mireia Luzarraga and Alejandro Muino), and TECHNOCrafts.
These exquisite pieces were part of two new design initiatives in AlUla: Madrasat Addeera Editions and the AlUla Design Residency, curated by Samer Yamani and Ali Ismail Karami. Nora Aldabal, the executive director of arts and creative industries at the Royal Commission for AlUla, expressed her excitement, stating, “The growth of our design program reflects the continued development of AlUla as a center for design, traditional arts, and innovation while celebrating the cultural heritage, vernacular materials, and natural history of the locale.”
She added, “These pieces have been specifically chosen to showcase the emerging design aesthetic in AlUla and the inspiration and dialogue that our destination offers to a wide range of cultures and artistic disciplines.”
