Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs Launches King Salman’s “Gifts of Dates” Program in Sweden

In a grand inauguration ceremony, the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance introduced King Salman’s “Gifts of Dates” program in Sweden. This Ramadan initiative aims to distribute a whopping two tonnes of dates in Stockholm, benefiting approximately 8,000 Muslims in the region.

High-profile Figures Attend Inauguration in Sweden

The event saw the presence of notable figures such as Saudi Ambassador to Sweden Enas bint Ahmed Al-Shahwan and head of Dar Al-Fatwa in Sweden, Sheikh Diaa Eddin Dahoud, among other esteemed Islamic personalities. Al-Shahwan emphasized the Kingdom’s commitment to serving Islam and Muslims globally, overseeing the affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, assisting pilgrims, and fostering dialogue, tolerance, and coexistence.

Expansion of the Program to Denmark and Chad

Continuing its outreach efforts, the ministry extended the gift program to Denmark, where two tons of dates will be distributed to around 8,000 Muslims. The ceremony in Denmark was attended by Saudi ambassador Sahl bin Mustafa bin Ahmed Arqsus and embassy employees in Copenhagen.

Moreover, the program was also launched in Chad, where the religious attache at the Saudi embassy initiated the distribution of dates and iftar meals at the King Faisal University in N’Djamena. With a generous allocation of five tons of dates, over 30,000 individuals are set to benefit from the program.

Expanding Reach to Thailand and South Korea

The Saudi embassy in Thailand rolled out the gift programs for distributing dates and iftar meals in South Korea. At the Central Mosque in Seoul, Saudi Deputy Ambassador Fahd Al-Barakah and Central Mosque Imam Sheikh Abdulrahman Lee graced the event. Over 12,000 individuals are expected to benefit from these programs, demonstrating the widespread impact of King Salman’s benevolent initiative.
