Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Holds Talks on Expo 2030 Preparations
In a high-level meeting on Wednesday, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met with the secretary-general of the Bureau International des Expositions to discuss the Kingdom’s preparations to host Expo 2030 in Riyadh.
Taking to social media platform X to share details of the discussion, Dimitri Kerkentzes expressed his “honor” at discussing the preparations with the crown prince. He emphasized the collaborative efforts between the BIE and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to ensure the success of Expo 2030, not just for the Kingdom, but for the entire region and the world.
Riyadh emerged victorious in the bid to host Expo 2030, overcoming challenges from South Korea and Italy. The prestigious event is set to take place in November 2023, following Riyadh’s selection by a majority vote of 119 out of 165 BIE member states.
