Conjoined Filipino Twins Arrive in Riyadh for Potential Separation Surgery

Two 16-month-old conjoined twins, Akhizah and Ayeesha Yusoph, arrived in Riyadh from Manila on Sunday as part of a Saudi evacuation plan organized by the Ministry of Health, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Born in Panabo City, Philippines, the twins share one liver and are being assessed at the King Abdullah Specialized Children’s Hospital to determine if they are eligible for separation surgery.

Supervisor general of KSrelief, Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, expressed gratitude to the Kingdom’s leadership for their support of the Saudi Conjoined Twins Program, which has helped over 130 children from 25 countries since 1990.

Al-Rabeeah emphasized the program’s global significance in the field of medicine and its alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 to enhance healthcare services in the Kingdom.

The parents of Akhizah and Ayeesha thanked King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their warm welcome and hospitality upon their arrival in Saudi Arabia.
