Final Stop on French Children’s Concert Tour in Saudi Arabia!

Classical Ensemble Delights Alkhobar with Specially Designed Children’s Program

Fresh off captivating performances in Riyadh and Jeddah, the Concert Impromptu, a group of talented French musicians formed in 1991, made their way to Alkhobar for the final leg of their tour. The ensemble presented a program tailored specifically for children, bringing a wave of excitement to the audience.

The concert took place at the vibrant Saudi Music Hub space, a cluster of colorful buildings near the corniche, setting the stage for an unforgettable musical experience.

The ensemble featured Yves Charpentier on flute, Violaine Dufes on oboe, Jean Christophe Murer on clarinet, Emilien Drouin on French horn, and Vincent Legoupil on bassoon.

Starting with the works of Mozart, the musicians transitioned into other classical pieces, injecting humor by suggesting that some compositions may have only been heard previously as cellphone ringtones.

The audience was predominantly composed of parents accompanied by their young children, including Abul Fahimuddin, who recently relocated to Dhahran with his family.

Excitement filled the air as attendees eagerly awaited the performance. Fahimuddin shared his family’s enthusiasm for the event, highlighting the importance of connecting with the creative community in the area.

As the concert unfolded, each musician engaged with the audience, answering questions and providing insights into their instruments and techniques. Solo performances and interactive segments added to the immersive experience.

The event, organized by Alliances Francaises in partnership with the French Embassy in Saudi Arabia, aimed to promote cultural exchange and foster a love for music among the younger generation.
