Get ready for April showers in Saudi Arabia – Rain forecast!

Saudi Arabia Braces for Heavy Rainfall

In a recent report by the Saudi Press Agency, the National Center of Meteorology and Civil Defense in Saudi Arabia has issued a warning regarding moderate to heavy rain expected throughout the month and possibly the rest of the season.

According to the Civil Defense, the rainfall will be accompanied by severe weather conditions such as high winds, low visibility, and fog until Saturday.

Dr. Ayman Ghulam, CEO of the center, highlighted that April typically sees high rainfall levels in the region.

Ghulam emphasized that the center constantly monitors the Kingdom’s atmosphere and collaborates with various authorities to handle weather-related phenomena, ensuring the safety of lives and property.

Hussein Al-Qahtani, a spokesperson for the NCM, urged caution among citizens and residents during this period, noting the possibility of above-average rainfall during the remainder of Ramadan.

Al-Qahtani also mentioned that spring is known for rapid weather fluctuations, with this year potentially seeing less rain compared to previous years.

The NCM is conducting climate studies on severe weather phenomena that have led to increased temperatures in southern regions, which experienced 75.2 millimeters of rain on Tuesday.

To prevent any potential risks, the Civil Defense advised the public to avoid low-lying areas susceptible to flooding and warned of fines up to SR10,000 ($2,666) for crossing valleys during this period.
