Hajj Scam Alert: Makkah Security Nabs Four Culprits

Security Patrols Bust Scammers in Makkah

In a recent operation in Makkah, security patrols apprehended four individuals engaged in the illegal sale of fake Hajj permits and bracelets, as well as promoting fraudulent Hajj campaigns, as reported by Saudi Press Agency on Monday.

During the bust, authorities seized cash, seals, mobile phones, and computers that were being utilized in the scams. The perpetrators, hailing from Pakistan and Myanmar, have been handed over to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.

Crackdown on Fraudulent Activities

This comes on the heels of the arrest of two Egyptian residents who were running a deceptive scheme through social media advertisements, promising pilgrims accommodation, transportation, and assistance in securing a sacrifice – all under false pretenses.

In light of these incidents, authorities are urging the public to exercise caution and vigilance when encountering similar advertisements, particularly those offering services such as performing Hajj on behalf of others.
