King Salman Honors Late Poet Prince Badr bin Abdul Mohsen by Naming Road in Riyadh

In a gesture of respect and admiration, King Salman has ordered a road in Riyadh to be named after the late poet Prince Badr bin Abdul Mohsen, as reported by Saudi Press Agency on Sunday.

The decision to bestow this honor came at the recommendation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, recognizing the poet’s exceptional talent and significant influence on Saudi and Arabic literature.

The newly named road is situated west of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, with King Salman Road to the north and Al-Thumamah Road to the south.

Prince Badr, a national icon, passed away in May at the age of 75 in Paris after battling an illness.

Known for popularizing Saudi poetry among Arab audiences, his verses were immortalized in songs by renowned artists such as Talal Maddah, Mohammed Abdu, Kadim Al-Sahir, and Assala.

His patriotic words and melodies resonated deeply with Saudis, forging a strong connection between him and the people of his country.

This directive reflects the leadership’s deep appreciation for the late poet and his enduring impact on Saudi culture.
