Hajj Pilgrims Praise Makkah Route Initiative at Surabaya Airport

Pilgrims departing from Juanda International Airport in Surabaya, Indonesia have lauded the services provided by the Makkah Route Initiative. The initiative includes assistance with check-in procedures at 12 dedicated counters in the airport, ensuring all health requirements are met, and organizing the delivery of luggage to their accommodations in the Kingdom, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Swift Departure Procedures for Indonesian Pilgrims

Authorities received gratitude from pilgrims for the efficient completion of their departure procedures on their journey to the Kingdom to perform Hajj. Indonesian couple Dewa Rosetta and Fatiha Munir expressed their “extreme satisfaction” with the initiative, highlighting its facilitation of travel procedures and time-saving benefits.

Kingdom’s Commitment to Pilgrims from Indonesia

Rosetta and Munir also commended the Kingdom’s commitment to serving pilgrims from their home countries and its generosity in supporting Islamic countries and those in need. They extended well wishes to all involved in the initiative, describing it as a “memorable experience.”

Streamlining Pilgrims’ Journeys with Makkah Route Initiative

The Makkah Route Initiative, implemented by the Saudi Ministry of Interior, aims to streamline pilgrims’ journeys from airports in their home countries. Launched in 2017 as part of Vision 2030, the initiative involves a dedicated team that assists pilgrims, as well as buses to transport them safely and comfortably through Makkah and Madinah.

Other services provided under the initiative include biometric scans, the provision of Hajj visas, and electronic luggage coding.
