Ismael Returns to Makkah After 10 Years to Fulfill His Hajj Dream

Rare Second Chance: Pilgrim from Ghana Finally Gets to Perform Hajj After 10-Year Wait

In a heartwarming turn of events, Ismael Maysounah, a pilgrim from Ghana, is finally getting the opportunity to fulfill his dream of performing Hajj after a decade-long wait.

Back in 2013, Maysounah first embarked on the sacred journey to Makkah but unfortunately fell ill, preventing him from completing the pilgrimage, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

Reflecting on his previous attempt, Maysounah expressed his deep disappointment at not being able to participate in all the rituals. He shared, “For 10 years, I held onto hope and prayed for another chance to make it right.”

This year, Maysounah was fortunate enough to be selected to perform Hajj as part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Guests Program.

Grateful for the opportunity, Maysounah extended his heartfelt thanks to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their invitation.

Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam, requires every adult Muslim to undertake the pilgrimage at least once in their lifetime, provided they have the financial means and physical capability to do so.
