Japan is buzzing with excitement over the increasing interest from travelers in Saudi Arabia, as stated by a top official on Monday.
Sharing Japan’s Diverse Attractions in Riyadh
Daisuke Kobayashi, the executive director of the Japan National Tourism Organization’s office in Dubai, expressed his delight over the success of JNTO’s first event in Riyadh. Titled “FEEL YOUR FOUR SEASONS,” the event allowed attendees to explore the diverse attractions of Japan.
Celebrating Diplomatic Relations Between Japan and Saudi Arabia
As Japan and Saudi Arabia approach the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in 2025, Kobayashi stated, “We are honored to have hosted our very first consumer event in Riyadh at such a meaningful time.”
Immersive Experience at the Event
The event held on Dec. 6 and 7 showcased Japan’s seasonal attractions through two domes featuring spring and autumn landscapes. Visitors were treated to exhibitions highlighting delicacies, activities, and travel experiences specific to each season.
Preparing for Expo 2030
With Saudi Arabia gearing up to host Expo 2030 in Riyadh, the event also featured the participation of the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau, representing the host city of Expo 2025.
Positive Growth in Visitor Numbers
Kobayashi reported a significant 72.2 percent increase in visitors from Saudi Arabia to Japan in the first half of 2024 compared to the previous year. He highlighted Japan’s unique experiences, from cherry blossom train journeys to winter drift-ice walking tours.
Exciting Year-Round Experiences in Japan
Japan offers a variety of experiences throughout the year, including forest bathing in summer, temple stays in autumn, and skiing in winter. Visitors can also enjoy ikebana workshops and explore lush green woods or pristine powder snow.
