Saudi Citizen Arrested for Smuggling Ethiopians Across Border

In a daring move, a Saudi citizen was apprehended by Al-Afwaj security patrols in Al-Arida, Jazan, for transporting 10 Ethiopians who had illegally crossed the Kingdom’s border in his vehicle. The 10 individuals were promptly handed over to the authorities and subsequently to the Public Prosecution for further action.

Severe Penalties for Facilitating Illegal Entry

The media spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior’s Al-Afwaj Regiment issued a stern warning that anyone caught aiding illegal entry into the Kingdom, whether through transportation or shelter, could face imprisonment for up to 15 years, a hefty fine of up to SR1 million ($260,000), and the confiscation of vehicles and property.

Border Patrols Thwart Drug Smuggling Attempts

Not stopping at immigration violations, Saudi border guard land patrols in Al-Raboah, Asir, successfully intercepted an attempt to smuggle 30 kg of hashish. Legal procedures were promptly initiated, and the contraband was handed over to the relevant authorities.

In a separate incident, border guard land patrols in Al-Aridah, Jazan, managed to foil an attempt to smuggle 140 kg of qat. Similar legal procedures were followed, resulting in the confiscation of the illicit substance.

Citizen Arrested for Drug Trafficking

The General Administration of Mujahideen in the Eastern Province made a significant arrest by apprehending a citizen involved in the sale of amphetamines. This demonstrates the relentless efforts of law enforcement to combat drug-related crimes in the region.
