Jeddah Islamic Port’s $46m Logistics Upgrade – Don’t Miss Out!

Jeddah to Get Integrated Logistics Zone with SR175 Million Investment

Exciting news is on the horizon for Jeddah as the Saudi Ports Authority and MEDLOG have inked a deal to establish an integrated logistics zone in the city. This collaboration, valued at up to SR175 million ($46.6 million), will bring a host of benefits to the region.

Creating Opportunities and Enhancing Efficiency

The integrated zone will not only house a site for container maintenance and inspection but will also generate 400 job opportunities, both directly and indirectly. Additionally, it will play a crucial role in nurturing local talent in the logistics services sector.

Furthermore, the new zone will prioritize sustainability by utilizing alternative energy sources to reduce carbon emissions. This eco-friendly approach will help maintain the safety of the port environment while contributing to a greener future.

Supporting the National Transport and Logistics Strategy

Aligned with the goals of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, this project aims to solidify Saudi Arabia’s position as a global supply chain management hub. By enhancing operational efficiency, commercial movement, and supply chains, the integrated zone will play a key role in achieving this objective.

Expanding Logistics Services on the Red Sea Coast

In addition to boosting logistical services on the Red Sea coast, the integrated zone will offer comprehensive and integrated services to meet the needs of beneficiaries and the local market. With a focus on high operational capabilities, the zone is set to elevate the standard of logistics services in the region.

Continued Progress and Development

The establishment of this integrated logistics zone is part of a larger effort to enhance the maritime sector in Saudi Arabia. With King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam also set to receive a similar zone, the country is making significant strides in its logistics infrastructure development.

With sustained efforts, Saudi Arabia has already made impressive progress on the World Bank’s Logistics Performance Index, climbing 17 spots to reach the 38th position in 2023. This growth underscores the country’s commitment to becoming a global leader in logistics and supply chain management.
