Saudi-Made Scroll Chillers Set to Make Waves in US Market
In a groundbreaking move for the Kingdom, Johnson Controls Arabia is gearing up to export a batch of 300 Saudi-made scroll chillers to the United States. The CEO, Mohamad Al-Shaikh, announced that the market value of these products amounts to an impressive SR100 million ($26.66 million).
A Leap Towards Global Competitiveness
The shipment will originate from the Johnson Controls Arabia Manufacturing Complex in King Abdullah Economic City, marking a significant milestone for the company. Al-Shaikh emphasized the achievement by stating, βIt is a very proud moment for us as a Saudi company to reach a level where our Saudi-made products are compliance competitive to meet all the quality requirements according to the specification for the United Statesβ market.”
Ambitious Growth Plans
Looking ahead, Johnson Controls Arabia plans to ramp up its exports from 30 percent to 60 percent of total production output within the next three years. This initiative aligns with the national industrial strategy and Vision 2030, focusing on economic diversification and local production development.
Strategic Partnerships and Expansion
The company also sealed a memorandum of understanding with the Saudi Export Development Authority to bolster non-oil exports from Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, a new factory expansion is in the works, supported by the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority, to manufacture water-cooled chillers with a capacity of up to 6,000 tons of cooling.

With 80 percent of sales coming from locally manufactured products and exports accounting for over 30 percent of total production, Johnson Controls Arabia is making significant strides in global expansion and market diversification.
