Makkah Volunteers Ready to Serve Hajj Pilgrims

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, almost 5,000 individuals in Makkah have stepped up to volunteer for programs initiated by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance. According to the Saudi Press Agency, these dedicated volunteers are gearing up to assist Hajj pilgrims during the upcoming season.

The Makkah branch has rolled out a total of 247 volunteering opportunities through its platform. These initiatives will include distributing over 235,000 water bottles at 3,850 mosques, offering umbrellas to pilgrims for shade from the scorching sun, handing out informative booklets, and providing nourishing meals to those in need.

This endeavor is a testament to the ministry’s commitment to fostering a culture of volunteerism within the local community, emphasizing the importance of selfless service and support.

Prior to this, the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque unveiled its comprehensive operational plan for the Hajj season, with a strong focus on encouraging voluntary and humanitarian work.

Recognizing the significance of the Two Holy Mosques as hubs for charitable activities, the plan underscores the values of generosity and hospitality that are deeply ingrained in both religious teachings and Saudi traditions.
