Logina Salah Crowned Miss Universe Egypt 2024
Egyptian model Logina Salah recently clinched the title of Miss Universe Egypt 2024, marking a significant step towards greater inclusivity in the global pageantry scene. Triumphing over 12 finalists at an event in Cairo, the 34-year-old makeup artist, model, body positivity advocate, and single mother has overcome childhood bullying due to her vitiligo skin condition.
A Victory for Inclusivity
“I feel like the world is getting closer to including everybody. It wasn’t allowed for moms to participate, or any woman above 30, and I didn’t like participating in ‘moms pageantry’; I do not like labeling,” Salah, based in Dubai, expressed regarding the rule changes in 2023. She saw the lifting of these restrictions as the perfect opportunity to pursue her dream of competing in pageantry.
Embracing Her Crown
Upon being announced as the winner, Salah’s first thought was, “I want to have a crown that never falls.” While being a queen is fulfilling, she aims to be the queen of hearts, emphasizing her ultimate purpose.
Inspiring Through Example
Reflecting on her journey with vitiligo, Salah highlights the power of living fearlessly as an example to inspire others. She aims to inspire not only individuals with vitiligo but all young girls and women by living unapologetically.
On the Road to Miss Universe
Salah will now represent Egypt at the global Miss Universe competition in Mexico from Nov. 14-16, where contestants from over 130 countries will compete. As she gears up for the event, Salah stresses her focus on a mission and purpose rather than just goals, urging early support from fans.
