Empowering Women in the Beauty Industry

Over the past 25 years, L’Oreal has supported 25,000 women in the region. The company launched its Hairdressing Academy in Riyadh and Dammam in 2023, achieving a 70 percent employment rate in the growing beauty sector in Saudi Arabia.

Additionally, L’Oreal’s “L’Oreal for Women in Science” program has invested over $925,000 to support 51 female Arab scientists and promote gender equality in STEM fields.

As part of its commitment to sustainability and innovation, L’Oreal Middle East is engaging stakeholders across the supply chain, including consumers and startups, through strategic partnerships.

The company recently launched the “L’Oreal Tech Quest Challenge” in collaboration with Astrolabs to foster innovation in the beauty tech sector.

Growth and Opportunities in the Beauty Market

The Middle East beauty industry is experiencing significant growth, with the GCC market ranking among the top 10 globally. The region’s beauty market was valued at $11.7 billion in 2024, with a 10 percent increase post-COVID-19.

Saudi Arabia, in particular, has seen a surge in demand for beauty products, driven by women’s increasing access to the workforce and rising disposable incomes.

Sustainability Initiatives and Environmental Impact

In line with its sustainability goals, L’Oreal Middle East is focused on reducing carbon emissions and implementing eco-friendly practices. The company aims to cut distribution-related CO2 emissions by 50 percent and reduce water consumption by 70 percent.

By partnering with local initiatives like Garnier’s collaboration with Panda and Naqaa Solutions in Saudi Arabia, L’Oreal is actively contributing to waste recycling efforts and water conservation.

With a strong commitment to empowerment, innovation, and sustainability, L’Oreal Middle East is shaping the future of beauty in the region and beyond.
