Meituan Expanding Food Delivery in Saudi Arabia – Now Hiring!

Meituan Expanding to Saudi Arabia: Job Openings in Riyadh

In a bold move towards global expansion, Chinese food delivery giant Meituan is looking to hire staff for multiple positions based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This strategic move indicates Meituan’s ambitions to further establish its presence in the Middle East region, as reported by Reuters.

The job ads, posted for KeeTa, Meituan’s brand for food delivery operations in Hong Kong, are specifically seeking candidates with expertise in business development, user acquisition, and customer retention. These postings were spotted on Linkedin and the Middle Eastern jobs site Bayt.com.

Despite multiple inquiries from Reuters, Meituan has not yet provided any comments on its plans for expansion in Saudi Arabia.

According to Bloomberg, Meituan is set to make its grand entrance into the Middle East market, with Riyadh being its first destination. This move comes after Meituan’s successful expansion into Hong Kong in May 2023, marking its first venture outside of mainland China.

Speculation about Meituan’s overseas expansion has been rife, with the Middle East being a potential area for growth since last year.

During a recent post-earnings call with analysts, Meituan CEO Wang Xing expressed the company’s interest in exploring opportunities in new markets. Xing stated, “We have the tech know-how and operational expertise, so we are confident in our ability to enter a new market and cater to consumers effectively.”
