Saudi Artists Shine at Jerash Festival in Jordan

A group of talented Saudi Arabia artists, photographers, artisans, and musicians are taking center stage at the 38th Jerash Festival in Jordan, a vibrant celebration of culture and creativity that kicked off on July 24 and runs until Aug. 3.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Ministry of Culture’s three agencies are pulling out all the stops to showcase the Kingdom’s rich artistic heritage through a diverse range of activities at the festival.

Theater and Performing Arts Commission

The Theater and Performing Arts Commission is set to wow the audience with performances from various regions of Saudi Arabia, featuring traditional arts such as Al-Hajini, Al-Dahha, Al-Samri, Al-Khamari, and Al-Rabash on the festival’s main stage.

Heritage Commission

The Heritage Commission will take visitors on a journey through Saudi Arabia’s architectural and cultural treasures with a special pavilion dedicated to the “Year of the Camel 2024.” The pavilion will showcase a digital photo exhibition of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the Kingdom, along with traditional crafts like palm crafts, pottery, Asiri weaving, bead making, jewelry manufacture, and woodwork.

Music Commission

The Music Commission is making its mark at the international exhibition site with the introduction of Saudi Arabia’s “Turooq” initiative, focused on preserving the country’s traditional music. At the festival’s Sound and Light Theater, audiences can enjoy the unique fusion of Saudi Arabian music with sounds from around the world in a show titled “Turooq Meets the World.”

The Ministry of Culture’s participation in the Jerash Festival aligns perfectly with the country’s National Cultural Strategy and Vision 2030, showcasing Saudi Arabia’s vibrant arts scene on an international stage.
