Riyadh Launches Innovative Cooperative Insurance Initiative to Combat Plant Pests and Animal Diseases
In a groundbreaking move, Saudi Environment Minister Abdulrahman Al-Fadhli has unveiled a new cooperative insurance initiative aimed at preventing losses caused by plant pests and animal diseases. This initiative, as reported by the Saudi Press agency, is a crucial component of the National Transformation Program and will be spearheaded by the Weqaa Center and various other authorities dedicated to bolstering the sustainability of the agricultural sector.
Weqaa CEO Ayman Al-Ghamdi described the initiative as a collaborative solidarity model that places a strong emphasis on the humanitarian and social welfare of individuals involved in the agriculture sector, such as farmers and livestock breeders. The primary objective of this program is to mitigate the economic impact of plant pests and animal diseases, safeguarding the livelihoods of agricultural producers.
