Transforming AlUla’s Fashion Scene: Nicola Formichetti Joins as Costume Mentor
The Royal Commission for AlUla’s film agency, Film AlUla, has made a bold move by appointing Nicola Formichetti, a renowned artistic director and creative, as the costume mentor for its flagship AlUla Creates initiative. Formichetti brings with him a wealth of experience, having worked on music videos for Lady Gaga, visual campaigns for global fashion houses like Mugler and Diesel, and editorial director positions at prestigious magazines like Vogue Japan Hommes and V Magazine.
Formichetti’s role as a mentor involves guiding designers Alia and Abeer Oraif of Atelier Hekayat and Arwa Al Ammari of ArAm in creating costumes for directors Hana Alfasi, Maram Taibah, and sisters Raneem and Dana Almohandes. These collaborations are set to premiere at film festivals later this year, showcasing the creative talents nurtured by Formichetti and the AlUla Creates initiative.
Joining esteemed mentors like Saudi director Haifaa Al-Mansour and producers James Richardson and Jane Moore, Formichetti’s involvement marks a new chapter in AlUla’s creative landscape, promising an exciting future for storytelling and fashion in the region.
