OIC joins 37th session of Islamic Committee of International Crescent
In a virtual session held in Amman, Jordan, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation participated in the 37th session of the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent.
Assistant Secretary-general for Humanitarian, Cultural, and Social Affairs Ambassador Tarig Ali Bakheet expressed concerns over Israel’s escalating acts of genocide against the people of Palestine in Gaza. He emphasized the need for coordinated efforts across Red Crescent societies in the Muslim world to address the situation in Gaza.
The session highlighted the humanitarian challenges faced by the Muslim world, including natural disasters and crises resulting from conflicts and wars. Bakheet stressed the importance of effective efforts to mitigate these problems.
Acknowledging Jordan for hosting the session, Bakheet thanked all those involved in its success on behalf of OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha.
The session will continue until Wednesday, showcasing the activities of the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent.
