Qatar Sees Surge in Inbound Visitors, Reaching 328,000 in August
In a striking development, Qatar experienced a staggering 24.5 percent increase in the total number of inbound visitors in August, with a total of 328,000 visitors gracing its shores, according to new figures.
The data from the National Planning Council’s Monthly Statistics bulletin revealed that the majority of visitors hailed from the Gulf Cooperation Council, making up a significant 41 percent of the total.
Air travel emerged as the preferred mode of transportation for visitors, constituting a whopping 64 percent of all transit options.
This surge in visitors aligns perfectly with Qatar’s National Tourism Sector Strategy 2030, which aims to attract over 6 million annual visitors and solidify the country’s position as the Middle East’s fastest-growing tourist destination.
Furthermore, the bulletin also highlighted a monthly increase in total new driving licenses by 0.6 percent, alongside a notable 11.3 percent surge in total new registered vehicles compared to July, with 8,605 new vehicles hitting the roads.
