Revolutionary AI Technology Improves Makkah Route for 7 Countries!

Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence Supports Makkah Route Initiative

In a move that aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 initiatives, the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence is playing a crucial role in providing technical and digital services for the Makkah Route Initiative. This program falls under the Ministry of Interior’s Pilgrim Experience Program, aiming to enhance the overall experience for pilgrims.

Global Operations in Support of Pilgrimage

Engineers and technicians from the authority are currently deployed across various countries such as Morocco, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Turkiye, and Ivory Coast. Their main task involves integrating these countries with the authority’s systems to streamline procedures related to border systems, Hajj systems, traveler registration systems, and the use of mobile bags equipped with biometric registration devices.

Crown Prince’s Support for Data and AI

The efforts of the authority in supporting the Makkah Route Initiative are part of the extensive backing provided by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to enhance the fields of data and AI. This support aims to stimulate their growth and maximize their benefits in various sectors.

Efficient Pilgrimage Process

Launched in 2019 in Muslim-majority countries, the Makkah Route Initiative allows pilgrims to complete all visa, customs, and health requirements at their airport of origin. This process saves them hours of waiting before and upon arrival in the Kingdom, making the pilgrimage experience more efficient and convenient.

Collaborative Efforts Among Multiple Agencies

The Ministry of Interior is working in collaboration with several agencies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence, the Pilgrim Experience Program, and the General Directorate of Passports to implement the Makkah Route initiative effectively.

Upcoming Pilgrimage Dates

The pilgrimage for this year is scheduled to begin on or around June 14 and conclude on June 19. With the support of advanced technology and digital services, the Makkah Route Initiative aims to enhance the overall experience for pilgrims and make the process smoother and more streamlined.
