Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Air Signs Strategic Agreements with Singapore Airlines and Air China

In a groundbreaking move, Riyadh Air, the kingdom’s newest airline, has inked deals with two major carriers, Singapore Airlines and Air China, to bolster its global reach and network expansion.

The agreements focus on enhancing interline connectivity, codeshare arrangements, and potential collaborations in frequent flyer programs, cargo services, customer experience, and digital innovation.

During the 80th International Air Transport Association Annual General Meeting in Dubai, Riyadh Air CEO Tony Douglas and Singapore Airlines chief Goh Choon Phong signed the memorandums of understanding, solidifying their partnership.

Scheduled to commence commercial operations in 2025, Riyadh Air will provide its passengers with access to Singapore Airlines’ extensive network across Southeast Asia and the South Pacific, introducing exciting new travel destinations.

The MoU with Air China, the national flag carrier of China, signifies the strong ties between Saudi Arabia and China, aiming to streamline travel between the two regions through interline traffic and codeshare arrangements.

Douglas expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with Air China, highlighting its potential to align with both China’s Belt and Road Initiative and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

These strategic partnerships promise enhanced connectivity and a wider range of travel options for passengers on both ends, emphasizing Riyadh Air’s commitment to becoming a leading global carrier.

As a key player in Vision 2030, Riyadh Air is driving economic diversification and job creation in Saudi Arabia, setting a new standard for sustainable travel and connectivity.
