Riyadh’s Expo 2030 Bid: Global Innovation for All!

Saudi Arabia gears up to deliver Expo 2030 with a global vision

In an exciting update from Paris, organizers of Expo 2030 have confirmed that Saudi Arabia is well on track to host an event that will be “by the world, for the world.”

Abdulaziz Alghannam, the director general of the Riyadh Expo 2030 office at the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, led a Saudi delegation at the Bureau International des Expositions general assembly in Paris.

The team shared that efforts are in full swing for Expo registration and the establishment of a legal framework to facilitate international participation in the event.

Following Riyadh’s selection as the host city during the bureau’s last general assembly in November 2023, preparations are now in full swing for the Expo scheduled to run from October 1, 2030, to March 31, 2031. The Saudi capital will welcome representatives from 197 countries and 29 international organizations.

Under the theme “The Era of Change: Together for a Foresighted Tomorrow,” Saudi Arabia aims to leverage the Expo to accelerate progress towards sustainable development goals, emphasizing the role of science and innovation in shaping a brighter future.

With a strong focus on infrastructure development, legislative and financial measures, a master plan for the Expo site, and legacy plans, preparations for Expo 2030 are being carried out at the highest levels to ensure a successful and impactful event.
