Saudi aid agency’s global relief efforts never stop

Saudi Aid Agency KSrelief Wraps Up Noor Saudi Volunteer Program in Kabul, Afghanistan

In a collaboration with the Al-Basar International Foundation, KSrelief successfully concluded the Noor Saudi Volunteer Program in Kabul, Afghanistan. The program aimed at providing crucial eye care services to the local community.

Impressive Results Achieved

During the program, KSrelief’s dedicated eye health team examined a total of 4,500 individuals within a week. They distributed 1,008 pairs of glasses, administered medication to 5,600 patients, and performed 408 eye surgeries, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

The program’s success led the center to extend its efforts to Herat province in Afghanistan, where a similar initiative is currently ongoing to combat blindness and its underlying causes. The program is set to conclude on June 4.

Continuing Support in Syria and Yemen

In Syria, KSrelief provided essential aid by distributing 949 food baskets and hygiene kits in Sarmada, Idlib province, benefiting 5,721 individuals affected by earthquakes. In Yemen’s Buraiqah and Sheikh Othman districts, the agency delivered 63 tonnes of food, supporting 1,071 people in need.

Empowering Women in Chad

KSrelief also initiated a volunteer project in N’Djamena, Chad, focusing on empowering women through training in sewing, embroidery, cooking, and computer maintenance. The project, scheduled to run until June 4, aims to benefit 270 women and aligns with Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting women’s livelihoods.

Providing Housing for Syrian Refugees in Jordan

In Jordan, KSrelief recently completed a project supplying caravans to Syrian refugees in Zaatari camp, offering housing solutions to underprivileged families. The initiative secured 500 caravans for 500 Syrian families, addressing the camp’s increasing population.

Enhancing Bilateral Relations with Cameroon

As a gesture of goodwill, KSrelief gifted 25 tonnes of dates to Cameroon, further strengthening bilateral relations. Khaled Al-Munif, charge d’affaires at the Saudi Embassy, presented the gift on behalf of the center.
