Saudi Arabia’s GEOSA shines at Geospatial World Forum
The General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information in Saudi Arabia is making waves as a strategic partner at the Geospatial World Forum, a global event featuring over 300 specialists in geospatial information.
Themed “Geospatial Transition: Powering the World Economy,” this four-day forum is currently happening in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, until May 16.
Representing the Kingdom both domestically and internationally in the geospatial sector, GEOSA is at the forefront of innovation and collaboration.

The forum in Rotterdam serves as a hub for sharing knowledge and unveiling cutting-edge solutions offered by geospatial information. With more than 55 pavilions showcasing the latest technology in the sector, attendees are immersed in the future of geospatial innovation.
In his opening speech, Mohammed Al-Sayel, president of the authority, emphasized the pivotal role geospatial information plays in decision-making within the rapidly growing Saudi economy.

The Kingdom’s contributions to global geospatial information management were underscored by Al-Sayel, citing the hosting of the UN Global Geospatial Ecosystem Center of Excellence in Riyadh. This center facilitates expert exchanges and knowledge sharing within the geospatial information management realm.
Furthermore, Saudi Arabia has established and maintained a national geospatial infrastructure in line with international best practices, while also focusing on enhancing national capabilities in the sector.
During a session titled “Geospatial Transition Driving Economic Value in Various Sectors,” GEOSA spokesperson Fatma Al-Shammari emphasized the Kingdom’s significant progress in various developmental fields. Major projects are leveraging advanced geospatial technologies to achieve national targets.
At the forum, Saudi Arabia, represented by GEOSA, participated in an exhibition as a strategic partner, showcasing the country’s national geospatial infrastructure and highlighting prominent development projects. The exhibition covered areas such as hydrographic surveying, national geodetic infrastructure, and map production.
