The Kingdom’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs took to social media platform X to issue an official statement, highlighting the consequences of this failure.

Organization of Islamic Cooperation Voices Deep Regret and Support for Palestine

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) also joined in expressing deep regret over the Security Council’s failure to grant full membership to the State of Palestine in the United Nations. In a powerful statement, OIC affirmed Palestine’s legitimate right to embody its political and legal status within the UN, denouncing the use of the United States’ veto right as a hindrance to Palestinian rights.

OIC emphasized the importance of recognizing Palestine’s statehood as a crucial step towards achieving regional peace and security, and urged all nations to acknowledge the State of Palestine on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
