Saudi Authorities Crack Down on Drug Smuggling Across the Kingdom

In a recent series of operations, Saudi authorities have made significant strides in combating drug smuggling activities within the Kingdom, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Saturday.

The Border Guards in the Al-Dayer governorate of the Jazan region successfully apprehended three Ethiopian nationals who were attempting to smuggle 33 kg of hashish into the country. Additionally, they managed to thwart the smuggling of 255 kg of qat in the same governorate.

In a separate operation, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control arrested three Saudi nationals in the Jouf region for their involvement in the sale of cannabis and prescription drugs.

Meanwhile, in the Hail region, authorities apprehended a Bangladeshi man who was caught selling cannabis. Border Guards in Al-Rabwah, Asir, also intercepted a smuggling attempt involving 330 kg of qat.

All individuals involved in these operations have undergone preliminary legal procedures, and all confiscated items have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further action.
