Saudi Authorities Crack Down on Drug Smuggling Operations

In a series of recent operations across the Kingdom, Saudi authorities have successfully made several drug-related arrests and confiscations, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Tuesday.

Border Guard land patrols in the Jazan region have thwarted an attempt to smuggle 120 kg of qat. Another operation in the Al-Ardah governorate of the same region led to the interception of 170 kg of qat.

Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control apprehended two residents, one Pakistani and one Egyptian, in the Eastern Province for allegedly trying to sell 1.2 kg of methamphetamine, commonly known as “shabu.”

In a separate incident, authorities arrested a citizen in the Qassim region for the illegal sale of amphetamines.

All individuals involved in these cases have undergone preliminary legal procedures, and all seized items have been handed over to the appropriate authorities.
