Saudi Customs: Fastest Global Clearance in Just Two Hours!

Saudi Customs Revolutionize Clearance Process with Two-Hour Service

In a groundbreaking move, Saudi customs has earned global recognition for introducing a swift two-hour clearance service at all entry points in the country.

Praised by the World Customs Organization in a comprehensive report, Saudi Arabia has successfully implemented a streamlined clearance system, spearheaded by the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority, across all land, sea, and air customs checkpoints.

This initiative highlights the Kingdom’s unwavering dedication to positioning itself as a leading global logistics hub.

With an impressive reduction of customs clearance time by 84 percent to just two hours by the end of 2022, down from 13 hours the previous year, the director general of the Customs Operations Department at the ZTCA revealed this significant achievement.

As reported by the Saudi Press Agency, the WCO released a detailed report outlining the successful implementation of the initiative, emphasizing digital transformation efforts and the seamless coordination among relevant entities that contributed to its triumph.

Commending Saudi Arabia’s strategic measures such as the establishment of a two-hour clearance standard, automation of customs procedures, and integration of information systems through the “Fasah” platform, the WCO praised the country’s efforts in enabling data exchange and electronic communication between all regulatory bodies.

It is worth noting that the term “Fasah” translates to clearance in English, symbolizing the Kingdom’s commitment to efficiency and innovation in customs operations.
