Saudi Deputy Defense Minister in Pakistan to Seal Security Deals

Saudi Assistant Defence Minister in Pakistan to Finalize Defense Projects

Saudi Assistant Defence Minister Talal Bin Abdullah Bin Turki Al-Otaibi is currently in Pakistan for a two-day visit aimed at finalizing defense-related bilateral projects, as announced by the Pakistani defence ministry.

Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Al-Otaibi’s visit follows a recent two-day trip to Islamabad by Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, focusing on enhancing economic cooperation and advancing investment deals previously agreed upon by both nations.

Official Reception

Upon his arrival in Pakistan on Tuesday night, Al-Otaibi was warmly welcomed by Pakistani military and government officials, as well as Saudi diplomats, including the ambassador to Islamabad, as captured in photos and videos released by the defence ministry.

Strong Military Partnership

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have maintained strong military ties, with Pakistan offering significant support, arms, and training to the Saudi armed forces. Pakistani soldiers have been stationed in Saudi Arabia since the 1970s to safeguard the Kingdom, while also providing training to Saudi soldiers and pilots.

Furthermore, the two countries regularly engage in joint ventures and defense exercises to strengthen their military cooperation.
