Saudi Films Dominate Awards Season: 5 Viddy Wins, 6 Vega Digital Victories!

Saudi Films Shine on International Stage

In a testament to Saudi Arabia’s natural beauty and progress under Vision 2030, three films have captured international acclaim with a slew of industry awards.

The films “Ra’ee Al-Ajrab,” “Horizon,” and “Station 7” have collectively garnered five platinum Viddy awards and six Vega Digital awards.

These cinematic gems were crafted as part of the Ministry of Media’s Saudi Konoz initiative, which seeks to showcase the kingdom’s hidden gems, important milestones, and cultural richness.

“Ra’ee Al-Ajrab” clinched the Viddy award for cinematography, while “Horizon” stood out in the integrated marketing plan category, according to Saudi Press Agency.

Meanwhile, “Station 7” scooped up accolades in both cinematography and documentary genres.

The Vega awards recognized “Ra’ee Al-Ajrab” for directing, cinematography, and short films, while “Station 7” was honored in the marketing and long documentary categories.

Produced in collaboration with the National Center for Wildlife, “Horizon” portrays Saudi Arabia’s natural splendor, featuring over 10,000 unique species thriving in their respective environments.

On the other hand, “Station 7” documents the milestones achieved under Saudi Vision 2030 in its seventh year, 2023, shedding light on progress made across the kingdom.

Established in 1995, the Viddy awards, overseen by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, celebrate excellence in video production.

The Vega awards, managed by the International Awards Associate, honor exceptional work in digital media marketing by industry professionals and organizations.

Notably, the Konoz initiative has previously clinched 12 awards in various international and local competitions, including the Saudi Film Festival, Telly Awards, and Hermes Creative Awards.

With the latest wins, the initiative’s tally of international accolades this year has reached a remarkable 23.

As a component of the Human Capability Development Program under Vision 2030, Saudi Konoz seeks to visually capture the kingdom’s treasures and elevate artistic output.

The initiative has unveiled a range of documentaries such as “Chapter 295,” “What Saudis Eat,” “Saudi Atlas,” “A Difficult Stage,” and “Ala Hadden Sawa.”
