Saudi Foreign Minister Discusses Gaza Developments with Palestinian Prime Minister
In a high-level meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan engaged in discussions with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa regarding the situation in the Gazan city of Rafah.
Strengthening Cooperation and Priorities
The two officials not only exchanged views on the latest developments in Rafah but also explored avenues to strengthen cooperation relations between their respective countries. Additionally, they delved into the Palestinian government’s priorities and work program, aiming to enhance their collaboration further.
Israeli Forces Mass Tanks Near Rafah
Meanwhile, tension escalated as Israeli forces massed tanks and opened fire near densely populated areas of Rafah. This came after US President Joe Biden’s warning to withhold weapons from Israel in case of a major invasion of the southern Gaza city.
Despite international objections, Israel proceeded with sending in tanks and carrying out “targeted raids” in Rafah, a city teeming with displaced Palestinian civilians. The situation remains tense as conflicting interests and actions continue to unfold in the region.
