Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Meets with BIE Secretary-General Dimitri Kerkentzes in Riyadh

In a high-profile meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan received the Secretary-General of the Bureau International des Expositions, Dimitri Kerkentzes, on Thursday. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the Kingdom’s preparations to host Expo 2030 in Riyadh and to coordinate efforts to ensure that the exhibition will be nothing short of extraordinary, as reported by Saudi Press Agency.

Taking to the social media platform X, Kerkentzes emphasized the importance of meticulous planning in order to deliver a truly transformative World Expo in 2030. Prior to this meeting, the BIE chief also had the opportunity to meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Wednesday, further solidifying the cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the Bureau International des Expositions.

It was announced that World Expo 2030 will be hosted in Riyadh after the Kingdom successfully overcame challenges from South Korea and Italy to secure the prestigious event, which is scheduled to take place in November 2023. Riyadh’s victory in this bid is a testament to the country’s growing prominence on the world stage and its ability to host major international events with excellence.
