Saudi Heritage Commission Wins iF Design Award for Creative Spaces
In a prestigious ceremony held in Berlin, the Saudi Heritage Commission was honored with the iF Design Award for their exceptional work in the field of design and creative spaces.
The commission’s remarkable achievement was recognized for their outstanding exhibition “Banan” at the Saudi International Handicrafts Week last July in Riyadh.
A panel of 132 distinguished international experts meticulously evaluated the submissions, focusing on concept, design, distinction, goal achievement, and functionality.
The award highlighted the commission’s innovative designs inspired by the Kingdom’s rich cultural heritage of handicrafts, as well as the exhibition’s vibrant colors and exquisite heritage pieces.
Supervised by the handicrafts sector, the Banan exhibition attracted a diverse audience with extensive participation from both Arab and international visitors.
Under the patronage of Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, the minister of culture and chairman of the board of directors of the commission, the exhibition ran from July 6-12 last year.
Established in Germany in 1954, the iF Design Award is a prestigious honor in the design industry, recognizing excellence and innovation in various categories.
This is the second award received by the Banan exhibition within months, following its success at the “Better Future|Paris Design Awards” in January.
