Saudi King Salman Expresses Condolences to Malawi President Following Tragic Plane Crash

In a heartfelt gesture, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman reached out to Malawi’s President Lazarus Chakwera to offer his condolences and sympathy after the devastating plane crash that claimed the lives of Vice President Saulos Klaus Chilima and nine others.

The king’s message was filled with compassion as he conveyed, “We received news of the death of the vice president of the Republic of Malawi, Mr. Saulos Klaus Chilima, and his companions, and we express to your excellency and your friendly people our deepest condolences and sincere sympathy.”

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also extended his sympathies to the president, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

The tragic deaths of Chilima and the other victims were confirmed after the wreckage of the small military plane they were traveling in was found in a mountainous region in the north of Malawi. The aircraft had lost contact the day before. Among the victims were former first lady Shanil Dzimbiri, the ex-wife of former Malawian President Bakili Muluzi, and three military crew members.
